Sirius Satellite Radio is headquartered in New York City and operates two smaller facilities in the Los Angeles California and Memphis Tennessee areas. They provide service to the U.S. and Canadian North American sector. Combined, SSR provides more than 130 channels of music, sports, news and entertainment programming to its listener base and has grown in popularity since its start in July 2002. They provide 24/7 program broadcasting with many different venues to choose from and are typically commercial free and not censored. Dish Network also provides some of the Sirius program content as part of their service. Arbitron identifies Sirius channels with the label "SR."

XM READY PRODUCTS

XM Satellite Radio was launched in September 2001 and was headquartered in Washington D.C. before the Sirius XM merger in July 2008. They are one of two satellite radio services providing service to the United States and Canadian North American sector. XM is a pay-for provider similar to cable or satellite TV services. Its programming provides over 110 different music, sports, news, talk and entertainment channels and supplies over 20 weather channels and over 20 play-by-play sports channels. Arbitron identifies XM channels with the label "XM."

HD RADIO PRODUCTS

HD Radio technology allows AM and FM radio stations to simulcast both digital and analog audio within the same channel. The digital portion of the signal allows for additional digital FM channels and text data content. HD Radio is currently a no cost alternative to paid subscription formats. However, listeners must purchase new receivers in order to receive the digital portion of the signal. Current statistics from the middle of the second quarter of this year show there were more stations worldwide with HD Radio technology than any other digital radio technology to date. Between 80 and 90 percent of U.S. stations broadcast in the HD format and there are over 1000 HD multicast channels offered.
